What is Cyberbullying?

It is a form of bullying committed through the internet, social networks and new technologies, in which a person or group of people seeks to offend, embarrass and humiliate another person.

Although cyberbullying can be committed by people you do not know, it is often practiced by someone you know from "real life," such as classmates, friends, etc.

More crime and more sophisticated
Every day, this kind of crime is growing. According to the latest Annual Report on Internal Security (RASI), with data for 2016 and released in March of last year, there is a "general increase" of this type of crime, "highlighting the crime of computer sabotage, to computer data or software and computer fraud ".

Regarding the 2015 report, the crime of computer sabotage increased by 140%, damage by 121%, computer fraud increased by 58%. The RASI of 2016 also highlights an increase in juvenile pornography crimes in the order of 36%.
The figures for 2017 are not yet known, but Carlos Cabreiro, head of the Judicial Police (PJ) for the Cybercrime Unit, has no doubt that the growth trend continues.

Of particular note are the situations of identity robbery, publication of unknowing photos among other types of offenses that have a great psychological impact on the victim of Cyberbullying.
