On June 18th (Monday), the official opening of the Youth Volunteer Programs of the Cascais Town Hall, in the Oceanic Pool of Tamariz Beach!

In 2017, about 1850 young people participated, dedicating approximately 284,173 hours to various causes, contributing a service to the community in our county.

In 2018, 2180 young people will participate, through 6 programs that promote the spirit of volunteering and active citizenship.

The Summer Volunteer programs are the responsibility of the Cascais City Council, through the Youth Division and are intended to promote youth volunteering in various areas.
During the summer it is possible to find volunteers in different areas of the county, from beaches to mountains, on the streets and in cultural and social facilities.

The 2018 edition, in addition to having a single enrollment period, between April 18 and May 15, features a novelty for the little ones, Locals XS for youngsters from 12 to 14 years old. These young people will be able to follow the Locals and Walking Tours teams, learn more about the Cascais Village and make known all the places that enchant the thousands of tourists who visit us. This program is part of the Locals (18 to 30 years), the program that aims to contribute to the general well-being and safety of users of Railway Transport of the county and the provision of general information to the visitor of the Village of Cascais, equipment and activities of CMC.

Holidays in Sports (15 to 25 years) is the project for those who like sports, implemented in collaboration with municipal or private non-profit entities that develop recreational activities in this area.

Maré Viva (15 to 25 years old), to create a better beach for 19 years, is the program that contributes to the general welfare and safety of the users of the beaches of the county, with the Marézinhas do Futuro project, for youngsters of 12 14 years - this project had an increase of vacancies this year, as more and more young people of this age group are looking for these programs. The project Cascais Affordable - Beach For Everyone (15 to 30 years), for young people with training in health, aims to make the beaches of the Municipality of Cascais accessible to people with disabilities.

Natura Observes (16 to 30 years of age) is a program developed by Cascais Ambiente in the area of ​​nature preservation that promotes the volunteering and education for sustainable development.

The Culture in the Neighborhood (15 to 25 years) has as mission to contribute to the general well-being of the visitor of the Village of Cascais, publicizing the equipment and cultural activities of the Municipal Council of Cascais.

The Youth Volunteer Programs are increasingly comprehensive, comprising projects for young people between the ages of 12 and 30, and are inclusive, where every year are integrated young people with physical and cognitive pathologies.

These programs are supported by the team of Psychologists of Espaço S, with follow-up throughout the period of realization, as well as in the selection process.

This year partnerships were established with Mobi Cascais, CP-Comboios de Portugal, Scotturb and Toyota to ensure the mobility of these young people.

The main objectives of the Maré Viva Program are:
To contribute to the general welfare and safety of the users of the beaches of the county, promoting a better use of that space and preventing situations of risk;
To sensitize users and participants to issues related to environmental improvement;
Disseminate to the users, useful information related to Tourism, Environment, Public Health and others of municipal scope

Locals
The main objectives of the Locals Program are:
Contribute to the general welfare and safety of users of rail transport in the municipality;
Providing general information to the visitor of the town of Cascais, publicizing the equipment and activities of the CMC intended for the visitor;
Disseminate with the users, useful information regarding the Programs promoted by the CMC as well as other initiatives of municipal scope.

Culture in the Neighborhood
They are defined as main objectives of the Culture Program in the Neighborhood:
To contribute to the general welfare of the visitor of the Village of Cascais, publicizing the cultural equipment and activities of the CMC;
Contribute to qualify the cultural offer of the municipality, resorting to the creative potential and dynamism of young people integrated in the projects of municipal cultural equipment, hereinafter referred to as framing equipment.

Social Culture
The main objectives of the Social Culture Program are defined as:
Develop active citizenship;
Apply the creative and dynamic potential of young people;
