Today, Carcavelos beach received an Adapted Dance class. Within the scope of the Maré Viva project, this activity aims at the inclusion of all, since dance is by itself a form of expression and social interaction.
At 10:00 a.m., there were several institutions and volunteers from Maré Viva project who joined us to dance and enjoy the sun that, although timid, was noticed.
This activity has contributed to the awareness of a more inclusive society, as well as to the benefits that derive from the practice of sports. In this particular case, wheelchair dancing, while not considered a sport, is not only an art but also a form of body expression that, like any sport, provides the same benefits - it improves physical fitness, reduces the isolation, makes the participants explore new ways of communicating, develops body language and even improves the domain that individuals have of the wheelchair.
While targeted at people with reduced mobility and special needs, your participation can make the morning of these people even more lively and fun.
The challenge has already been launched this morning, but our invitation extends to 31 July. Join us!!
