BUSCAS ESCOLAR MALVEIRA-CASCAIS PLACES MORE THAN 300 STUDENTS ON THE ROUTE OF SCHOOLS
The Cascais integrated mobility system, MobiCascais, launched on January 3, the day of return to school, its twelfth bus route - the busCas Escolar Malveira-Cascais line. This busCas, which departs every morning towards the center of Cascais, has as main objective to take the young students from Malveira da Serra, Janes, Murches, Charneca, Aldeia de Juso, Birre, Torre and Bairro do Rosário to the four educational establishments where it passes: Basic School of Cascais, Externato Nª Srª do Rosário, Basic and Secondary School of Cidadela and Secondary School of Cascais.
According to the municipality, this new line will directly impact more than 300 students, with about 10% of them expected to start using the service during the second term of this school year.
According to Rui Rei, President of the Board of Directors of Cascais Próxima, a municipal company responsible for MobiCascais, this new route "will bring a new life for the students and parents, since the students will be able to make their way to school and return home in a more quickly and comfortably, and parents can rest easy, as well as avoiding several kilometers to go and get them to class, they know that their children are being transported with professionalism and that they will arrive at school on time ". But, according to Rui Rei, the innovations will not stay here, because "this busCas will be equipped, very briefly, with a technology that will allow parents, who so wish, to accompany the entrances and exits of their children in the bus."
This service, although very directed to the student public, will also be open to the whole community. Passes vary between gratuity, for young people up to 14 years, and € 20.00, for the general public. Those interested in acquiring their monthly passes can go to the site www.mobicascais.pt or to any Loja Cascais in the county. In case they are Sub14, they should go to the nearby Cascais store located in the Cascais Center building, in the center of the village.
