The dates of the public participation sessions of the Youth Participation Budget (OP Jovem) 2017/2018 are already defined. After a pilot year in which only four county school groups participated, the challenge of presenting proposals to improve the school and community is now being launched to 37,500 students from 14 schools.

Each school will have one session per education cycle, coordinated by the OP Jovem group and support from the Cascais City Hall (Citizenship Division).

With all the winning projects of 2016/17 accomplished, and having won enough votes to win the OP Youth Project integrated in the OP Cascais 2018, the OP Jovem is "on the right track", as the young people responsible for the definition of norms, organization, and conduct of the sessions.

Until the end of january the challenge is "Bring your ideas" so that dozens of good proposals are expected to be divided into:

- Projects up to 2,500 euros to be completed within the perimeter of schools by the end of 2018. They must be compatible with the projects and school and municipal plans that are already underway. They must be in accordance with the School's Internal Regulations and with the Student Statute.

- Projects up to 300,000 euros to be completed in 2 to 3 years in the community, in any part of the county, and the proposals most voted by students will continue to the technical analysis phase of OP Cascais 2018 Must comply with OP Cascais categories:

Green spaces • Culture • Recreational equipment • Sports • Public road network and transport • Urban furniture • Accessibility and smooth mobility • Administrative modernization • Health • Social action • Environmental protection and energy • Rehabilitation of buildings • Urban redevelopment of public space • Sanitation and hygiene urban • Security and civil protection • Tourism, trade and economic promotion • Cultural and historical heritage • Animal protection
