João Canas | Maré Viva

Hello! My name is João Canas and I am the assistant coordinator of the Viva Maré program.

At age 15, we all look for ways to feel useful and, above all, we try to find ways to become more independent. These were the reasons that led me to enroll in the program at that same age. Like me, hundreds of other young people, driven by the same will, are enrolled every year in this fantastic program that is Live Tide.

My passing through volunteering helped me to develop personal skills. Dedication, unity and respect are examples of the values ​​that have helped me grow in the program and, above all, as a person. It was my first contact with something similar with a serious job, and it was the first time I felt the responsibility of representing an institution before the public. In this way, the aspect that most developed was my ability to communicate and ease in interpersonal relationships.

Being here today is the culmination of a whole process of learning and experiencing experiences that enrich me and give continuity to my growth as a person.
