Rita Marau | NATURA OBSERVA
Being a coordinator of Natura Observes is to be attentive and available to the needs of all volunteers. It is knowing leads them, but at the same time listens to them and counsels them. Pass on to them everything we have learned from this program. It is teaching them values of environmental component, but also of team spirit, unity and mutual help. Being a coordinator of Natura Observes is to never stop being a volunteer and learning every day, side by side, with those who join the team.
My name is Rita and I am the coordinator of Natura Observations.
I had the privilege of growing up in a village near the Natural Park of Sintra-Cascais, so I have always been accustomed to the paths of the Serra de Sintra and the strong winds of Guincho beach.
When I learned about the existence of the Natura Observ Program I did not hesitate to register. I was selected by the base coordinator of the time - whom I thank - and placed in the Pilrito team.
That's when I was fascinated by the preservation of our Natural Park. Do not get me wrong, obviously I already adored this place, but before I did not understand its true importance, nor had the knowledge of how could make the difference.
After that, a few years passed, and I graduated in Environmental Engineering. With this, I can affirm to you that many of the knowledge, values and friends that I have today, I owe them to Natura Observes.
If you want to know more about our Natural Park, think about joining the team one day. The Natura Observes will be waiting for you and I wish this experience to be as wonderful for you as it has been for me!
