“Nós Propomos @ Cascais!” | Municipal project promotes territorial citizenship
Did you know that about 400 young people between the ages of 16 and 35 of 12 public, private, professional and cooperative schools in the county are carrying out case studies about what they consider to be problems in the county and preparing proposals to solve them? Some of these ideas will be presented on February 25 from 9:30 am in the Jerónimo Martins auditorium, on the Nova SBE campus in Carcavelos.
It is the 1st plenary session of the "We Proposed @ Cascais!" Project that results from the partnership between the Cascais Municipal Council and the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning of the University of Lisbon (IGOT-UL).
These local proposals will be evaluated by a multidisciplinary Municipal Jury taking into account the criteria established in the regulation: relevance, objectives, methodology, justification, expected results, feasibility and budget. The Municipal Council of Cascais undertakes to finance the best project up to a total value of 100,000 euros.
Space of meeting, sharing and discussion, the plenary brings to the public some of the proposals being elaborated by the students to improve the municipal territory. By the end of April, schools will submit their best proposals to "We Propose @ Cascais!"
This initiative seeks to bring Local Power, Schools and Population through a responsible citizenship, carried out by young people.
A work in the scope of the subjects of Geography and Citizenship in Secondary Education that, for example, at national level, has already brought a first place to the Ibn Mucana Secondary School (Alcabideche) in 2015, with a proposal for the requalification of Ribeira das Vinhas.
