Today we celebrate National Student Day.


Did you know that this day was promulgated by the Assembly of the Portuguese Republic in 1987?

Besides a day of celebration, this is a day of struggle and homage, since the date is celebrated by the national student movement, in order to remember the difficulties and obstacles that the students faced in the decades of 60, during the academic crisis lived in Portugal.


The date is also intended to appeal to the participation and mobilization of students in favor of a new model of education: an education for and for all. The right to education is a basic right of our society consecrated constitutionally and that requires the involvement of all. The date also reminds us that the student is a pillar of society.


Cascais is a municipality that cares about its young students and as such promotes various initiatives, such as:


• Promote the creation and development of student and youth associations
• Young Participatory Budgeting in which young people can develop and present their ideas
• Free pass for young people up to 14 years
• Assignment of a scholarship up to € 2500 for community and / or personal development projects- Talent Promotion Scholarships
• And many more initiatives like Carlota goes to schools, ReciClaro ...
