It was this morning that more than 20 young people who will join the third shift of the summer volunteer program Maré Viva were present at the first of four days of training of informal beach protection agent, which will be attended by partners such as protection civil.

This program is for young people between the ages of 15 and 21, residents or students in the municipality of Cascais.

The main objective of Maré Viva is to contribute to the general well-being and safety of users of the beaches of the municipality, to promote a better use of that area and to prevent risk situations, to raise awareness on issues related to environmental improvement and to disseminate information useful information about Tourism, Environment, Public Health, among others of municipal scope.

Patrícia Pires, general coordinator of the program, and Filipa Fernandes da Silva, coordinator of the beaches of zone 1, from Guincho beach to Poça beach, as well as basic information on uniforms, schedules and participation rules, informed the future marezinhas about the project marezinhas of the future, that is destined to young people of the 12 to the 14 years, as well as of all the special projects with which the program counts - AMP of Avencas (protected marine area of Avencas), Cascais Accessible - Beach for All, Livro n'Areia, Marezinhas em Movimento and Pegada n'Areia.

In the end, it was proposed to the young people to reflect on hypothetical situations that might occur while performing their functions.
