The prize
 

The Charlemagne Youth Prize, organized by the European Parliament and the International Foundation of the Charlemagne Prize, is awarded annually to young Europeans who promote understanding at European and international level, foster the development of a shared sense of European identity and offer practical examples of Europeans living together in a community.

 

Who can participate?

All young people between the ages of 16 and 30 from any Member State can submit projects for the Charlemagne European Youth Prize.

Projects can be submitted individually or preferably in groups. They should promote understanding at European and international level, foster the development of a shared sense of European identity and integration, serve as a model for young people living in Europe and offer practical examples of Europeans living together, forming a community.

 

What kind of project can we present?

The winners of previous years have been rewarded for projects such as exchange programs for young people and sporting, artistic or cultural events, and can take the form of projects in line with a European dimension. Click here to see the projects of the winners of previous years.

 

The projects submitted to the competition must already have been started and:

a) have been completed between January 1, 2018 and January 28, 2019;

b) or is still in progress.

 

Calendar

Beginning of the competition: 10/11/2018

Deadline for submission of projects: 01/28/2019

Announcement of the national winners: 3/15/2019

Award Ceremony in Aachen: 05/28/2019
