About 400 students from Cascais secondary education presented yesterday, February 26, at the Jerónimo Martins Auditorium of NOVA SBE, in Carcavelos, various proposals for planning the territory to the executive of the Municipality of Cascais, within the framework of the project We Proposed @ Cascais . Twelve schools in the municipality of Cascais participated in this initiative of public, private, cooperative education, as well as the Prison of Linhó.

This project was closely watched by the Mayor of Cascais and his councilors Nuno Piteira Lopes, Frederico Pinho de Almeida, Isabel Guerra and Filipa Roseta, who made a critical evaluation of the projects, presenting solutions for improvement and possibilities for streamlining the projects. their implementation processes.

In the afternoon, presentations were also made by the divisions of the chamber involved in the project and the Student Association of NOVA SBE.

In addition to these presentations, a further five projects were presented for presentation, two from the Marist College of Carcavelos - "Cleaning of Polluted Zones with Graffiti" and "Sociedade Recreativa"; one from the Gonçalo de Azevedo Frei Schools Group - "Microproduction of Electric Power in the Infrastructures of the Municipality"; a project of the Ibn Mucana School Group - "Fire Hazard in the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park" and a project of Cercica - "Cycles for the schools of the Municipality of Cascais".

This was also an excellent opportunity for the young students of the municipality of Cascais to share their ideas and share opinions on what can be improved in the county, an activity that was highlighted enough by the chamber executive as an example to follow regarding the participation of the young.

This project is the result of a partnership between the Municipality of Cascais and the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning of the University of Lisbon (IGOT-UL). The "We Proposed!" Project is launched by IGOT to all schools in the country, but Cascais has the particularity of the City Council to commit itself to finance the best project up to a total value of 100,000 euros.
