Arraial de Santo António is coming and will take place in the traditional market of Cascais from 12th to 15th June, 2019.

Organized by the Municipal Council of Cascais, together with the Youth Associations of the Municipality, the Arraial de Santo António has been recovering the tradition of the Popular Saints in Cascais.

There will be four days of celebration with the participation of the young people of the associations involved and the contribution of the merchants of the Market of the Village. The revenues of Arraial de Santo António will be distributed by Participating Youth Associations.

In the preparation of Arraial, some measures are being put into practice on a sustainability path, such as promoting the use of public transport over the use of individual transport, establishing partnerships with Mobicascais and Comboios de Portugal, encouraging active mobility, with the use of bicycles, scooters and walking.

The use of disposable plastic will be eliminated, where, among others, there will be no plastic water bottles, encouraging the consumption of tap water and there will be an improvement in the efficiency of the separation of waste through awareness actions in the area of waste separation, counting with a team of volunteers.

All purchases of products and materials for this Arraial are of local producers and commerce.
