During the morning of today, we were with the volunteers of the Workcamp that is taking place in Zambujal, Cascais.
These International Voluntary Work Camps are an initiative coordinated by the Youth Association Rota Jovem in partnership with the Cascais City Council, which has been running since 2010, with impressive results in the communities.
This year, a group of volunteers, between the ages of 18 and 30, I was already in Matos Cheirinhos, from June 23 to July 7.
At the moment, another group of volunteers from around the globe with the same ages is in Zambujal until the 29th of this month. In order to intervene and contribute to a better use of the urban space, making it more enjoyable and useful, these work camps are also a way for volunteers not only to be with the communities where they are providing services, but also to know new cultures, interacting with several people of different nationalities. To this end, young people benefit from a few days and moments of pause, one of them being an intercultural night, where they share various delicacies and various customs from all the regions from which they come.
Helping young people on working days are some members of the communities themselves, who join them not only for moments of conversation but also for lifting weights.
If you do not like being unemployed and if you have this spirit of self-help and volunteering, do not miss the next news in our social networks and try it - next year, the next one stays!
