To commemorate the fact that this year Cascais is the European Capital of Youth and also to commemorate International Youth Day, a day consecrated by the United Nations on August 12, on August 10, 11 and 12, Visconde da Luz Garden, the Mercado da Vila and the Racecourse of Cascais hosted several concerts dedicated to the youth of the village.
On the first day, the Market was filled with young people who listened to the tradition and identity of our country for a night of young fado.
In an interview, the fadistas praised the event, because it is a fado, usually associated with a higher age group, dedicated to young people and inserted in a festival dedicated to the youth of Cascais and the country. Many also praised the talents of Castile and affirmed that being European Youth Capital is a challenge, but that makes us understand that the future lies in us and depends on us young people, who are the future.
On the second day of the Cascais Youth Festival 2018, Visconde da Luz Garden received from 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm an OpenStage that was filled with young talents from the village. Ysianay Beatriz, Maria Castro, Concordia, Tarzan Is Dead and Sea Angels were the artists who performed.
At 7:30 p.m., the doors of the Manuel Possolo Hippodrome opened. At 9:00 p.m., DJ Pedro Garrido took the stage, entertaining the audience that gathered in front of the stage. At 10:00 p.m., Bárbara Bandeira took the stage that had already known the winners of the pastime that took place in our instagram. By 11 pm, David encouraged the audience of the Hippodrome, sang and delighted.
And to commemorate the International Youth Day, a day that was celebrated by the United Nations, the third and final day of the festival took the concerts of Gabriel the Thinker, our ambassadors HMB and Pedro Vaz to the stage of the Manuel Possolo Hippodrome.
Before, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Jardim Visconde da Luz was filled and the Green Leather won the Cascais à la Banda contest, which was organized by PLUGD. The winners were thus confirmed to take place on August 17 on the first day of the Feast of the Sea.
At 22h30, at the Hippodrome Manuel Possolo, the volunteers from 2018 gathered in front of the stage to listen to the speech of Bernardo Capucho, founder of the GiveMe4 festival, Catarina Marques Vieira, commissioner of Cascais European Youth Capital and also João Paulo Rebelo, secretary of sports and youth. Shortly afterwards, the HMB, ambassadors of Cascais, made the young people at the hippodrome take their feet off the ground and give everything in a concert full of dance and good energy.
At midnight, the festival ended with the concert of Gabriel the Thinker, who stated that "it is in the change of the present that we shape the future. In the change of attitude, there is no harm in not moving. "
