If you were looking forward to another project of the Cascais Sports Volunteer program, this is the news of your day!
The GFNY (Grand Foundo New York) will arrive in Portugal on 9 September. It is a personal resistance challenge where athletes compete against each other, against the clock or with themselves.
The challenge is open to amateurs and professionals and simulates a true Grand Fondo Italiano: with time control by chip, signage along the course, results based on general times, medal for participants, trophies and jerseys for the general champions male and female , besides podium by age group.
The GFNY is currently the competition that brings together the largest number of cyclists of different nationalities. In 2016, the New York race featured athletes from 93 countries. The average age of the competitors is 41 years and, proportionally, it is the proof that brings together the female audience (19%).
Founded in 2010, the GFNY brand is present in several cities in the four corners of the world, arriving in Cascais in 2018.
If this project interests you, if cycling is your favorite activity, you have until September 2 to sign up here.
The schedule will be from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., in the Marina de Cascais. There are 40 vancancies and you only have to be dynamic and proactive to give logistic support to the whole event. And now, motivated for this great adventure?
