Why is it important to vote?

As Europeans, we face many challenges, from migration to climate change, from youth unemployment to data privacy. We live in an increasingly globalized and competitive world. As Portuguese, the vote was a right acquired in 1974 after the revolution. And while many of us regard democracy as a given, it also seems to be under increasing threat, both in principle and in practice.

That is why we have started to create a community of supporters to encourage a higher rate of participation in the European elections. Our goal is not to advise who to vote for. It consists in defending the very act of voting, the act of participating in the democratic process and the act of doing it in a conscious and fully informed way. We want to harness the potential of people-to-people interaction and create a community of supporters across Europe who support the cause of the vote and thus advocate the very idea of ​​democracy - we all decide on what Europe we want to live in.

Because this time, hope for a better future is not enough. This time we have to take on our responsibilities.
